A workshop and research exploration into the intersection of generative systems, artistic experimentation, and scientific visualization frameworks. For Onassis and Athens Science festival
Traditionally, the artist and the scientist were seen as belonging to two distinct worlds. While the scientist was expected to be objective, relying on established methods and available technological tools to document and explain reality, the artist was expected to remain subjective, challenging conventional methods—or inventing new ones—and openly asserting their own perspective on reality. Today, however, we are witnessing the convergence and hybridization of these two roles, a process that can be traced back to the earliest photographic techniques. In this workshop at the Stegi, participants will have the opportunity to create online narratives exploring the intersection of art and science. Drawing on materials from scientific archives, they will learn the fundamentals of web design and approach it as a scientific, technological, and cultural tool.
